Fort church, a historical monument and museum, was built in 1769 as part of Fort Amsterdam, which is now on the UNESCO World Heritage list. The Fort church is the oldest church on the island and is a Protestant church. The museum is home to an elegant collection of artifacts, and cultural treasures that tell the rich history of the protestant community of Curaçao. Examples include utensils from the Dutch Protestant congregation, including antique silver chalices and a mahogany and silver baptism font. A collection of old maps and a display of the island’s most prominent families are also on display.
