¡Save the date for a fun, cultural weekend!
Museumweekend 2023 will be held from Friday, May 19th until May 21st. Come and visit one or more of our beautiful museums, from Art, History, Nature, and War. There will be many activities throughout the weekend at each museum. There’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Activities you can do this museumweekend!

There are exciting activities happening in most of the museums and the activities are mostly included in the price. Here’s a sneak peek into the exciting activities happening:

Guided tours:
Uncover the island’s diverse cultural past with guided tours through one of our fascinating museums: Mongui Maduro Museum, World War II Museum, Landhuis Bloemhof, Curaçaosch Museum, Curaçao Postal Museum, Museum Savonet and Museo Tambú Shon Cola.

Live Demonstrations: Experience traditional folk dances and music performances at Museo Ka’i Orgel and and indulge in local delicacies like bread baking and live Kriyoyo cooking at Museo Vikto Bartholomeus.

Living History:
Embark on a journey through time with Shon Ia during a living history performance at Kas di Pal’i Maishi

Artist Encounters:
Meet & greet with artists at Curaçaosch Museum but also at the Art Experience Yubi Kirindongo. Not only during the day, but also at night under the stars for a memorable experience.

Nature Lovers:
Nature meets Culture! At Museum Savonet you are able to do a guided tour in nature. You can also do a nature scavenger hunt at Landhuis Bloemhof.

Children:
It’s not just for adults—it’s a fantastic opportunity for children to engage in exciting and educational activities too. Explore and discover at Children’s Museum Curaçao, Imagination game at Sculpture Garden Blue bay, discover the world of sharks at Carmabi Marine Education Center or take a family tour with Maritime Museum in the harbor.

 

 

Special activities
Kas di Pali Maishi – Friday May 19th 10:00 – 14:00

A personal meeting with Jeanne Henriquez, founder of Museum Kas di Pal’i Maishi where she will explain about the origin of the museum and the developments regarding Museo Tula.

Museo Vikto Bartholomeus – check schedule
During the weekend you can discover live demonstrations regarding crafts and cooking. On Sunday there will also be live music. A real cultural, culinary experience for everyone.

Sculpture Garden Blue Bay – ongoing
The Blue Bay Sculpture Garden Foundation has developed a game for all ages. Each card has an assignment that stimulates the imagination. You can experience the sculptures in the Sculpture Garden more intensively in a playful way. The game can be played individually or in groups. The game is available in the golf shop for a special Museum Weekend price of $6.50

 Maritime Museum Curacao – Saturday 13:30
In the Museumweekend we offer the famous harbor tour, an exiting trip not to be missed. On one of the authentic harbor ferries you get to experience Willemstad from the water. One of our tour guides will tell you all about the history of the Saint Anna Bay, the floating bridge, the “Handelskade”, the harbor and more. Plein Air Art Curacao Museum – Friday 15:00 – 17:00
Embracing Inclusiveness: An Art Workshop for Kids (Ages 8-12) This workshop will explore the concept of inclusiveness. This word means you must accept and respect everyone, regardless of their differences. By learning about inclusiveness, we can create a world where everyone feels valued, included, and loved. We will talk about how we can achieve this in everything we do and then you can make a nice drawing to express Inclusiveness as YOU see it! Reserve your spot at (+5999)  516 1965
